Agassiz Valley Human Service Zone supports the elderly and/or disabled community that wants to continue to be successful in their own home environment. Join our team as a Direct Care Associate! Direct Care Associates provide direct service to the elderly and/or disabled individuals in their home to enable them to continue to safely reside in their home/community. In this role, you will be responsible for providing environmental services and personal care to eligible citizens. Services provided include laundry, shopping, housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, bathing, hair care, etc. You will connect with local citizens to complete daily living activities with the goal of increasing their ability to be independent. Attention to detail is key because you will be responsible for accurately documenting activities through electronic visit verification and/or paper logs. This position will be based out of our Finley, North Dakota office location. An agency-issued vehicle is provided for business-related travel. As a Direct Care Specialist daily travel to client homes will be completed throughout Steele and Traill Counties. In addition, there may be some travel to rural Cass and rural Grand Forks counties based on client need. This position is part of the Agassiz Valley Human Service Zone Adult Services team. Team members participate in agency staffing and will receive training to maintain requirements as a Qualified Service Provider (QSP) provider/agency. The position is responsible for management, supervision, budget, and development of 12 Wildlife Management Areas of approximately 12,000 acres in District VII (Hettinger, Adams, Slope, Bowman, Stark, Billings, Golden Valley, and Dunn Counties) in southwest North Dakota. This consists of Game and Fish property and leased property from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Management includes developing and maintaining tree plantings, grass/forb plantings, food plots, noxious weed control, prescribed burning, fence maintenance, water level management as well as WMA lease agreements, federal aid work plans, and annual management plans. The position will coordinate and respond to wildlife depredation; assist with Game Management Section surveys, management, and research activities. The position will assist Private Lands Section with supervision, implementation and delivery of private land and hunter access components of the Departments Private Lands Initiative; other District and Department duties as assigned; and provide educational services, technical assistance, liaison with State, Federal, private organization partners, as well as contractors and individuals on expertise of wildlife management based on sound biological principles and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in wildlife management, biology, natural or earth science or other related natural resource discipline and four years of professional work experience with a wildlife or natural resource management agency is required. A Master's of Science degree may be substituted for two years of actual work experience.The position requires experience in applying wildlife management concepts, wildlife habitat management practices, habitat requirements for northern Great Plains wildlife species, federal and state agricultural conservation programs and production agriculture. Applicants must have experience providing supervision to professional and support staff. Applicants must have experience in planning, preparation, and administration of detailed budgets. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to balance different interests.The individual must possess well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, be highly responsible, be well organized and have attention to detail.
