Lake Region Human Service Center - Devils Lake, ND - Addiction counselorThe home base for this position could be located in Rolla or Devils Lake.**Sign on Bonus may be available up to $13,000.00 and/or Moving Expenses up to $5,000.00**Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.As an Addiction Counselor, you will provide individuals opportunity for recovery management so they can live and work independently in their home community.In a typical week of a counselor, you will complete level of care screenings and assist in developing integrated service plans. You will provide short-term individual, family, and group counseling. You will provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in the office, in the community and on-call. Also, you will provide education and consult to families, community, interns, and residents.You will thrive in this position, if you are committed to a rehabilitative and person-centered philosophy and comfortable providing services in homes and communities. Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone Child Welfare/Family Services Department serves to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community.Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is seeking an In-Home Case Manager (36-40-5410) for the Child Welfare/Family Services Department.As an In-Home Case Manager, you will utilize the Wrap Around Case Management services and the Safety Framework Practice Model for children and families when neglect or abuse has occurred in order to prevent future maltreatment or foster care placement.Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone works to protect children and families by providing services and advocacy while promoting family stability, respecting diversity, and working to create and strengthen connections to community resources. We work to prevent abuse by providing education, resources, and support to parents, families, and community organizations. Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is seeking committed, passionate In-Home Case Managers to serve our Child Welfare Services clients.In-Home Case Manager duties include: assessing and providing appropriate case management services for children who still reside in the home; developing treatment plans, goals, and safety plans for caretakers and children to reduce the identified risk of child abuse and neglect; providing information and referral services for children and families; conducting case planning meetings; writing affidavits and testifying at court proceedings.This position maintains responsibilities of a highly complex and sensitive nature and requires a high degree of knowledge, skills, and passion in child welfare. Work activities involve decision-making within parameters of approved policies and procedures, thorough, accurate and timely responses as well as accurate documentation that complies with State and Federal Regulations. This position also requires coordination with local service providers, law enforcement and legal entities, as well as emergency response planning. This position requires some afterhours/non-traditional working hours including on-call scheduling.Frequent travel throughout Mountain Lakes Human Service Zone is required.

Minimum Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you should have a passion for serving others and a desire to make a positive impact. You should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively and have demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations. You will need to have a strong understanding of program policies and laws. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs and have attention to detail.To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, behavioral health, or criminal justice. Plus, one of the following:Family Service Specialist III (SC7005):A Master's degree may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. Two (2) years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager. Requires a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science or criminal justice and two years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager. This person will be responsible for keeping state fleet vehicles clean as well. Hours are negotiable and can easily work around other commitments.
