North Star Human Service Zone is seeking an Eligibility Worker for the Economic Assistance Department. The Economic Assistance Unit provides for the assessment and eligibility determination of applicants for a variety of programs by interpreting and applying complex state, federal, and county policies. This position requires knowledge of community resources and Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance. This position will be a Group 4 Application Processor working with TANF and other programs.Program training is provided for this position. Some travel throughout North Star could occur. To succeed in this position, you should have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, collaboration, and decision-making skills. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs. You will need to have a strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures.
