Duties and Tasks

Two years of the experience must have been in duties comparable to those of a PO II. Incumbent must be licensable as a ND Peace Officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63 and shall attend the first available basic peace officer training program recognized by the ND Peace Officers and Training Board (POST Board) ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Must have a valid class D driver's license. Parole and Probation Officer II minimum qualifications: A bachelor's degree is preferred in behavioral science, education, business, or a related field with three years of work experience in a corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota OR an associate's degree with five years of work experience with individuals in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education or behavioral health setting may be considered. Duties and Tasks

Assess need for individual, family, and group counseling referrals and coordinate with service providers. Complete time logs as part of targeted case management. Function as a community liaison for the Division of Juvenile Services. Provide crisis intervention and emergency services to youth and family.

Minimum Qualifications

Juvenile Corrections Specialists require a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, or other closely related field and two years of work experience providing for the treatment and rehabilitation needs of delinquent adolescents. As Master's degree in one of the above fields may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. Preference will be given to applicants with juvenile case management experience.

As a Pretrial Services Parole and Probation Officer you will provide supervision to individuals placed on pretrial supervision. This includes completing intakes on clients, developing case plans, and overall management of the client's case. This position is also required to complete pre-sentence investigations for the courts, complete risk assessments, and other miscellaneous investigations. This position works closely with all facets of the criminal justice system. Work includes exposure to hazardous conditions potentially resulting in a serious physical injury requiring medical attention, and some lost time from work. Exposure occurs on a periodic or intermittent basis. This position has great deal of interaction with the courts, law enforcement agencies, human service centers, and social services agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
