Duties and Tasks

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: social work, counseling (including addiction counseling), psychology, criminal justice, or sociology and two years of professional therapeutic counseling experience; or a master's degree in one of the listed fields.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field plus:Two years of full-time experience or equivalent specialized training in archaeological research, administration, or management.One year of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archaeology.Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion, usually documented through the completion of reports of such work.Requires a class D driver's license for travel to meetings and project locations.Excellent communication skills, speaking and written, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and a verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment.

The North Dakota State and Local Intelligence Center (SLIC) is comprised of state and federal law enforcement agencies. The mission of the North Dakota SLIC and the role of the analyst is to collect, store, analyze, and disseminate information on crimes, both real and suspected, to the law enforcement community, government officials, and private industry concerning dangerous drugs, fraud, organized crime, terrorism and other criminal activity for the purposes of decision making, public safety, and proactive law enforcement.This civilian (non-sworn) criminal intelligence analyst position for the North Dakota SLIC provides vital investigative support to various law enforcement agencies in North Dakota, as well as throughout the nation. Minimum Qualifications

Additional work experience as described may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.Ability to write clear and comprehensive information reports, threat and risk assessments, and other analytical products to support strategic and operational planning activities.Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodologies of analysis to research, review, interpret, evaluate, and integrate all-source data.Knowledge in accomplishing liaison and coordination with counterpart analysts in the intelligence community which result in coordinated research and analyses.Excellent prioritization, time management, and organization skills.Ability to comprehend the training and methodologies necessary to complete the required tasks and to provide case support to law enforcement officers. Under the supervision of the Manuscript Archivist, the Manuscript Collection Intern will increase access to the Ritterbush Family Papers and the Van Horn-Ritterbush Architectural Records at the North Dakota State Archives. The Intern will be immersed in the history of the Ritterbush family and their professional projects in North Dakota, developing expertise that will be used to process their family photographs, papers, and architectural blueprints. Throughout this internship, they will examine documents, conduct historical research, enter data into databases, perform needed preservation actions, digitize documents, and ingest them into the State Archives' content management and digital preservation systems. The processing activities undertaken in this project are necessary to ensure accessibility, intellectual control, and long-term preservation of an important part of the State Archives' manuscript holdings.Many of the tasks related to processing collections of the State Archives are repetitive, while others are complex, multi-step processes; as a result, attention to detail, self-motivation, ability to work independently, willingness to ask questions and integrate feedback into workflow, are all preferred qualities of the successful candidate. This project is a unique opportunity to work hands-on with interesting and varied primary sources that document North Dakota history. On-site training will be provided.

Student Requirements
