The North Dakota Securities Department is seeking an Investor Education and Outreach Communications Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of all investor education content and programming and other outreach communications made by the Department.The Securities Department carries out the important mission of protecting investors and supporting legitimate capital formation. The Department is a regulatory agency responsible for the administration of the North Dakota Securities Act, the North Dakota Commodities Act, the Franchise Investment Law, and Pre-Need Funeral Services Law. The Department regulates investment industry firms and professionals, and also regulates capital formation involving the offer and sale of securities.We strive to adequately balance the support of efficient, legitimate capital formation with appropriate protections for investors who commit capital to businesses. The investigation of investment fraud and other securities law violations is also our responsibility, and we may take enforcement actions that result in disciplinary remedies and act as a deterrent for further violations.Through our investor education programs and resources, which this position is responsible for managing, we strive to help North Dakotans make informed investment decisions, avoid fraud, and build financial security.Hiring Range: $5,500 - $6,500/month commensurate with experience. The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program. The position is responsible for prosecuting drug-related criminal cases and asset forfeiture cases under the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in state and federal courts. As our Radon Program Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the NDDEQ Radon Program Coordinator in conducting statewide outreach to promote radon testing and mitigation across the State of North Dakota which includes identifying, compiling, and creating educational outreach materials, preparing materials for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) translation, staffing educational booths promoting radon testing and mitigation, researching and ordering test kits and continuous air monitors, assisting with conducting radon testing, evaluating radon test results, and conducting follow up testing in buildings initially showing elevated radon level results. You will also assist the DEQ Radon Program Coordinator in outreach and field visits.This position is based in Bismarck; however, some travel, with overnight stays, may be required.
