Career Description




The therapist is responsible for providing Brief Strategic Family Therapy Services for families where a child or children are at-risk of out-of-home placement. With a focus on family preservation, this position will utilize philosophy and skills acquired through Brief Strategic Family Therapy model training and passing competency panel. The position will serve the Fargo Metro area, as well as surrounding areas in Southeast ND.

Duties and Tasks

Therapy: Provides family therapy services in compliance with the Brief Strategic Family Therapy model; Serves as advocate for services for families; makes recommendations related to individual treatment as needed. Documentation and Record Keeping: Completes documentation congruent with the BSFT model; when appropriate, will complete Title IV-E billing in the portal; DJS Time logs; timesheets for payroll. Other duties: Participate in consultation sessions, education, and training opportunities; participate in supervision and other agency related meetings; provide testimony on behalf of agency as needed; and all other duties as assigned. The duties of the position does require travel. No on-call requirements. Ability to work remotely/home office. Flexible 40-hour work schedule. Become a valued member of an engaging and supportive team environment devoted to strengthening clinical skills and mastery of BSFT model.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in mental health, social work, family-marriage area of counseling or related fieldOR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of clinical experience working with families may qualify. Include a copy of your transcripts New Applicants Must complete the online application Must upload a cover letter and resume Must upload a copy of transcripts Positions will be available at Williston, Bismarck, Dickinson, Riverdale, Devils Lake and Jamestown district offices and Valley City. Applicants will be asked to specify their preferred locations as well as other locations applicants are willing to work in. Please indicate these locations in the application process to be considered for employment in these districts. Current state employees with access to PeopleSoft can access the job posting through the PeopleSoft portal. External applicants can access the job posting by going to the ND State Jobs Openings.
