Intern for ND Horse Racing Commission The North Dakota Horse Racing Commission has openings for two summer 2025 interns. Join our talented and dedicated team and gain knowledge and experience in a variety of components of the horse racing business. The positions will work directly with ND Racing Commission staff to complete the licensing process at the live Horse Races in Fargo and Belcourt. This includes reviewing and verifying documents and information, record checks, and fee collection. Time will also be spent in the areas of racing compliance, safety & security and conducting investigations. There will also be an introduction to the following positions: Veterinarian, Track Manager, Safety Steward, Gate Crew, Photo Finish/Video process, Paddock, Breed Fund Administrator and Horse Identifier. Learn more about ND Racing Commission at: http://www.racingcommission.nd.govEach summer intern position will work around 25 - 35 hours per week, from late May through early August 2025, at the racetracks and at the live weekend horse racing events in Fargo and Belcourt, ND. Travel required. Lodging and per diem reimbursement for meals provided, based on State of ND requirements. Salary: $15.00 per hour. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must be:Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical program, with classes continuing through at least the fall 2025 semester. Of at least sophomore standing by the end of May 2025, with successfully completion of credits equivalent to one year in a university, college, or a vocational/technical program. Currently pursuing a degree with this internship aligning with academic requirements or future career goals. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced Plant Industries staff, supporting a range of initiatives within the Plant Industries Division.Our mission is to serve, advocate, protect and promote agriculture to benefit everyone.
