The ND Department of Trust Lands has an opening for a dynamic, detail-oriented Minerals Management Officer in the Minerals Division, in the Bismarck, ND office.The ND Department of Trust Lands manages the permanent educational trust funds and assets under the Board of University and School Lands control. The Department consists of 33 fulltime team members, administers approximately $7 billion of financial asset investments, over 706,600 surface acres, and over 2.5 million mineral acres. Learn more at: Home | Trust LandsThe Minerals Management Officer will be a point of contact for both external clients and stakeholders and other divisions within the Department for collaboration. This position will help prepare and manage oil and gas leases through all phases of their lifecycle (auction management, assignments, extensions, shut-ins, terminations), and help managing land data for reports and presentations. Office functions may include researching and reviewing the Department's mineral ownership; obtaining and inputting individual oil well information into the system (ownership, legal description, location/spacing unit, etc.); preparing proposed rules and legislation; assisting the legal team; tracking and reviewing related state and federal matters; attending industry related meetings and administrative duties.To thrive in the position, you must be highly organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple duties proactively and accurately, in an efficient manner. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.Starting Salary Range: $84,000 - $90,000 annually ($7,000 - $7,500 monthly) Minimum Qualifications:Requires a bachelor's degree in natural resources, land management, environmental science, geology, business, engineering, law, or closely related field.Work experience related to mineral or land management practices; the leasing of mineral rights; researching titles, abstracts, surveying, and title work; legal work related to real estate or mineral ownership; or other closely related work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
