Date: 07/20/2010

Job Service North Dakota (JSND) reported that labor statistics released today show North Dakota’s June not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1 percent. The rate is 0.9 percentage points higher than May (3.2 percent), and 0.6 percentage points below the same period of prior year (4.7 percent). The state continues to be considerably lower than the national (9.6 percent) June rate. Michael Ziesch, Research Analyst for Job Service stated, “June rates are always higher than May as they reflect an influx of students into the labor market, either on summer recess, or as graduates.”
